Cannot Select the Global Address Book List

Problem

In Maximizer CRM 10.x Group edition, when opening an Address Book, there are 2 Address Book lists to choose from: the Global list and the Local list. The Global list contains the names of the Address Books that reside on the server.

In some situations, if you try to switch between the Local and Global list, it will "bounce" back to the Local list and you will are not able to see the list of Address Books on the Global list.

Reason

In the Registry, Maximizer stores the location of the Server where the Global Address Book list resides. If this value is incorrect, you will not be able to see the Global Address Book list.

Solution

Follow the procedure below to verify that the value stored for the Global Address Book list is correct.

WARNING! Be extremely careful when updating the Windows Registry. Incorrectly modifying registry keys can lead to catastrophic program and system failure. If you are unsure about any of the following steps, please consult with an experienced Windows user or a system administrator.

  1. Go to the Start Menu (or Windows button) and select Run.
  2. Type in REGEDIT and click OK.
  3. Navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Maximizer Software\Maximizer\Common\Sys folder.
  4. Check the value in the CENTRAL_WORKSPACES_PATH and verify it contains the correct path to the MXZDIR.cfg file on the server. Typically, it should look like this: \\[server name]\MxServer\Mxzdir.cfg, where [server name] is the name of the server.
