SYN1006 error when Synchronizing a Palm Device to a Networked Address Book
  Question

SYN1006 error when Synchronizing a Palm Device to a Networked Address Book

Problem

When attempting to synchronize a Maximizer CRM 10 Entrepreneur edition database using MaxLink with a Palm device, plugged into a Workstation running Windows XP, and the database on a Windows 2003 Server, you receive a SYN1006 error message.

Solution

Follow the procedure below to resolve the issue:

  1. Open the MXZDIR.cfg file in Notepad. You can find this file by opening the registry, and expanding the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Maximizer Software > Maximizer > Common > Sys folder. In the LOCAL_WORKSPACES_PATH key, it will point to the MxzDir.cfg file.
  2. Under the [Global Settings] heading, find the UNIFIED_LOGIN key and set the value to 0.
  3. Under the heading named for the Address Book that you are attempting to synchronize with, find the USE_NT_AUTHENTICATION key and set the value to NO. For example, if you are trying to synchronize Escona Tutorial, you would look for the EsconaTutorial Address Book heading and modify the USE_NT_AUTHENTICATION key under it.
  4. Save the file and exit.
  5. In Administrator, go to File > Preferences and verify that the Enable Security check box is selected. Note that the synchronization will not work unless security is enabled.

Applicability

  • Maximizer CRM 10 Entrepreneur Edition
