  Address Book Synchronization Disabled for Outlook and MaxMobile Synchronization
  Question
 

Appointment and Hotlist task synchronization is available, but Address Book/Customer Service/Opportunity synchronization is disabled.

Problem

When attempting to synchronize to Outlook, the Synchronize Address Book entries option is disabled.

When attempting to synchronize to MaxMobile, the Synchronize Address Book Entries, Synchronize Opportunity, and Synchronize Customer Service cases options are disabled


Reason

Synchronizing to external clients may not be enabled.

Solution

To verify if you have the ability to synchronize to external clients, follow the procedure below.

  1. Go to File > Users.
  2. Select your user name, and click the Properties button.
  3. Go to the Access Rights tab.
  4. In the Privileges area, verify that the Allow sync contacts with external clients option is enabled.
